The Euro Amusement Show (EAS) is an international exposition of products, services and equipment related to the field of amusement and the theme park industry. The show is arranged by the European Association Amusement supplier Industry (EAASI) and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).

The largest event of its kind, the Euro Amusement Show is a great platform for both visitors and exhibitors. The latter get the opportunity to showcase their offerings to the world, while the former are able to explore the best products and services in the industry under one roof.

In 2009, the Euro Amusement Show will be held in Amsterdam between September 30th and October 2nd, 2009. Judging from the popularity of this years show, the upcoming exhibition is likely to be well attended, with participating exhibitors from all over the world offering a host of products and services of interest to those in the amusement and attraction industry. EAS 2009 will open to visitors at the Amsterdam RAI International Exhibition and Congress Centre and will showcase over 250 exhibits displayed in three halls by over 8000 participants.

Exhibitors will appreciate the facilities at Amsterdam RAI as both the amenities and services offered here are excellent. 87,000 square metres of space with 22 congress rooms, 11 exhibition halls and numerous meeting rooms make the RAI a popular exhibition venue. In addition to the capacious, air-conditioned halls that comfortably host several hundred large events a year, the parking facilities are more than ample and can be accessed via a shuttle service.

Exhibitors will find plenty of assistance available at the RAI to handle event, conference or exhibition organising. Eurocongres, a member company of the Amsterdam RAI can arrange such activities both in the country and abroad, while RAI Events will help exhibitors organise social gatherings, excursions, receptions and sports events. Exhibitors can also take advantage of the ICT connectivity and audio visual services that are offered by RAI.

The Amsterdam RAI is located just a few minutes from Schiphol Airport, so travel to the venue is easy and convenient. The city centre is nearby and has plenty of accommodation options in proximity to the venue to suit varying budgets. One can even get hotel accommodation and journey reservations arranged by the professional hosts of the Euro Amusement Show 2009.

Amsterdam is a fantastic, vibrant city and is also the capital of the Netherlands. While it has gained notoriety for its marijuana cafes and lax stance on prostitution, it is also one of the oldest cities in Europe and boasts a huge amount of culture. One of the best things you can do while there is head on down to one or two of the famous coffee houses for a hit of culture, great food and drink and people watching.

Abraxis

Hidden in a tiny alley near the Dam Square, this coffee house has three gorgeous wood-paneled floors to hang out in. If you head up to the top small, you will find it decorated with live marijuana plants, which can be a thrill to newcomers. The ambiance is lovely and the view from the top is wonderful. If you’re not afraid of heights, skip up to the top floor and look down through the glass partition all the way down to the ground floor!

Barney’ Breakfast Bar

This is one is great for early risers, since it opens earlier than most coffee houses and also serves (as one would assume from the name) fantastic breakfasts. Also, since they’re up near the train station, Barney’s is a good place to go when you first hit town and nothing else has opened yet.

La Canna

A large, impressive coffee house boasting three floors, a billiards room, restaurant and even rooms to rent! The service is particularly good and this is a great place for people watching: just find yourself a seat by the second-floor windows for a great view out over the busy streets.

Popeye’s

Famous not for its food nor its ambiance, but rather for its owner, Popeye’s is something different! Popeye himself is the owner – a jovial, chatty guy who loves nothing better than chatting with his customers, hanging around and greeting and welcoming everybody. Great if you’re feeling a little disillusioned!

Rokerij

Part of a small chain with four locations in the city. The original location is probably the best, boasting great service, wonderful food and drinks and a classy, Indian-themed atmosphere. Just pay attention when looking for it, or you might miss it!

No one will debate the fact that Amsterdam NL is easily counted among the great and delightful cities of Europe, making it no wonder at all that no matter what time of year you might travel to this city you will find other visitors in great numbers. But, aside from the fact there is a fairly constant stream of visitors to this city, many people are quick to let first time visitors know the optimal time to visit Amsterdam and soak in her charms.

And, what is that time of year? Well, if you love to see the tulip fields ablaze with color that stretches out for miles, then those who are in the know say that you should take a trip to Amsterdam around the Easter holiday, or in the months of April and May.

On a trip to Amsterdam during this time of year you will be able to get yourself lost in the myriad fields and mazes of daffodils and tulips that are so vibrant and eye-popping during this time when they all come to life and burst forth in stunning color.

Most people will advise you not to holiday in Amsterdam during March or October, as those months are known to bring almost continual rain to the area. Since Amsterdam is very much known as a walking city, the heavy rains during this time can make it unpleasant for tourists who are trying to get around and see all of the beauty of Amsterdam Netherlands. And, since walking through the streets of this historic city is one of the major reasons why people have Amsterdam travel on their “must do” lists, having pleasant weather is an essential ingredient.

One of the things that people who go to Amsterdam delight in, no matter what time of year they make their sojourn, is the wonderful Dutch cuisine that is as world-renowned, as are many other aspects of the Netherlands experience. There are many famous, exotic and wonderful restaurants throughout the city that not only feature delicious Dutch dishes, but also many other cuisines that are influenced by the many cultures and peoples that inhabit this “melting-pot” city.

High on most peoples lists of things they must see when they visit Amsterdam are the amazing flower markets in the southern part of the city, as well as the many famous museums which house historic and important works from many of the world’s masters, including Holland’s own Rembrandt. No matter what your primary interests are, the Amsterdam city center is a vibrant, engrossing, stimulating and entertaining destination that holds many charms for visitors of all tastes and inclinations.
